Control of Non-Pain Symptoms

Some of the most common non-pain symptoms experiences by the terminally ill include:
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Constipation
  • Restlessness
  • Weakness
  • Decubitus
  • Dry mouth and mouth sores
  • Anorexia

While pain is the most feared symptom of the terminally ill, control of non-pain symptoms can be more difficult than control of pain due to the complicated pathophysiologies of non-pain symptoms and limited data regarding their appropriate management.
